Informatiegestuurd politiewerk: met reflecties voor de strafrechtsketen

Tijdschrift PROCES, Aflevering 6 2019
Trefwoorden Informatiegestuurd politiewerk, Kennismanagement, Organisatiefactoren, Strafrechtsketen
Auteurs Flore van Rosmalen MSc, Dr. ir. Annette de Boer, Dr. ir. Mariëlle den Hengst e.a.
SamenvattingAuteursinformatie

Intelligence-led policing (ILP) has been adopted by police organisations worldwide, yet organisational implementation appears to be difficult. Results of this study uncover organisational factors that affect ILP and give insight on how these facilitate or hinder ILP. The organisational factors can be categorised into technological, structural, cultural and people related factors. This research was conducted by means of a literature review and two case studies on the investigation of organised drug-related crime and on football and safety in two different units of the Dutch police. The results of this study can be considered as relevant input regarding future implementation of intelligence-led operations in the whole criminal justice chain.

Intelligencegestuurd politiewerk: een maturity model

Tijdschrift PROCES, Aflevering 3 2012
Trefwoorden intelligence led policing, maturity model, information, deciding
Auteurs Dr. ir. Mariëlle den Hengst
SamenvattingAuteursinformatie

Intelligence Led Policing (ILP) is an increasingly important concept for policing. ILP is about analyzing information and knowledge and using these analyses to support decision making about police work. The implementation of ILP is characterized by different stages of development. In this paper we describe each stage by five aspects. The stages are: intuition, justify actions, guiding actions and prescribing actions. The five aspects are: collecting information, analyzing information, presenting analyses, interaction and using analyses.

Access_open Paul Scholten en Herman Dooyeweerd: het gesprek dat nooit plaatsvond

Tijdschrift Netherlands Journal of Legal Philosophy, Aflevering 1 2010
Trefwoorden Scholten, Dooyeweerd, legal principles, legal reasoning, religion
Auteurs Bas Hengstmengel
SamenvattingAuteursinformatie

The legal scholars Paul Scholten (1875-1946) and Herman Dooyeweerd (1894-1977) had much in common. The most significant agreement is their emphasis on the influence of a (religious) worldview on legal scholarship and practice. Unfortunately, they never met to discuss the similarities and differences of their jurisprudential ideas. In this article I try to reconstruct this conversation which never took place. Scholten’s legal thought is specifically oriented to the practice and difficulties of judging. Dooyeweerd above all was a philosopher whose specific philosophy of the modal aspects of reality is the basis for his thinking about the law. Both scholars emphasized the importance of legal principles. They also identified several fundamental legal categories and concepts. However, their methodology is different. The way religion and morality influence their legal thought is also different. A discussion of the contemporary relevance of their work completes the paper.
